We took a little trip to Sunriver over the weekend and had a great time! We played in the snow, walked in the sunshine, went sledding, had some good meals out, went in the hot tub, and spent some quality family time together.

Qb was so excited to go on our "Trip".

While we were there he kept asking "when we gonna go on a trip?"

We said "We're on it, Buddy!"

13 Months!

My big girl! 19 lbs. Starting to walk, sleeping 12 hours at night, shakes her head "yes" or "no" to tell you what she wants, moved to her big girl carseat, LOVES dada and looks for him all day, is a big eater but never sits down in her highchair, gives us the stink eye if she's poopy and makes us all laugh, wants to be held always, loves to dance. New discoveries: says "shhh" with her finger to her mouth, says "ball" and "choo chee" (her pacifier), learned horse and duck animal sounds, puckers up and gives real kisses (instead of the open mouth ones) recognizes nose and eyes, seems to understand more and more each day!

It's so cute to watch these two get closer everyday. And it just melts my heart to hear the two of them giggling in another room together. But with that also comes the fighting...Macy always wants to do what Quinten is doing, and Quinten doesn't always want to share. Let's just say I have added the title "Referee" to my mommy job description.

Here's what they have been up to lately...

Throwing toys down the vent...(I had to get a picture before I corrected this behavior) :)

This was funny. They compleatly tore apart Will's wallet and started filling up May's purse with his money and credit cards, Ha! Fill mine next kids!

A sweet moment when Quinten snuggled Macy when she wasn't feeling good so mommy could make dinner.

So, sometimes SWEET, sometimes SOUR.

Isn't that how life is anyways?

MACY'S FIRST BIRTHDAY!!!

I swear this little girl's only like 9 months or something, but the calendar proves that she is indeed ONE year old! Oh my gosh, that year flew by. Macy is such a dear part of our little family and has stolen all of our hearts. She is such a sweetie. She's pretty. She's daring. She climbs, she throws fits, she's very smart, she gives kisses and snuggles, and she's silly. I could go on and on. Macy is the type of baby that is unpredictable and you never know what you're gonna get from day to day. But I love that she's that way. Because it makes her snuggles that much sweeter, and her temper that much funnier. Oh Macy moo...we LOVE you!

So yes, "Pretty in Pink" was the theme, because she is very much a pink kind of girl. I had been planning this fun party for weeks, but had to cancel last minute cause missy was sick. Fever and runny nose is no fun for a party :( So we just kept it small to family and ALL the attention was on Mace. This is the reason for SO many pictures....since most people were not able to come.

We had a great time, and she perked up a little during presents!

Thank you to all of our family who came to celebrate with us!

Yea!! CHRISTMAS!!!

Christmas at my mom's is insane. When you wake up in the morning there are literally presents piled halfway up the tree and cover most of the living room floor. And when we open them , it's complete chaos with wrapping paper flying in the air, shouts of joy, and smiles all around. I love it :)

Finally getting a chance to catch up!

We spent the last two weeks doing a lot of this...

Quinten and Macy both got nasty bugs that left us with horrible colds and fevers for days. It was no fun, and Im so thankful they are feeling better!

My oh my I have so many pictures I want to share, but seems like blogging is last on my list everyday. I'm so excited for Christmas, but not ready for it all to be over yet. It seems like we just started really savoring everything. There is so much magic and excitement with two little ones in the house...

I have a 3 year old ?!?

WOW...time goes by so fast.

Seems like yesterday I was snuggled up with my little blue bundle and kissing his little blond head. Now he takes up the majority of my lap when we snuggle and never runs out of things to say! Quinten LOVES Cars, so we had a race car party! Complete with a race track and a trampoline. It was a hit!

Oh we love this little-BIG boy sooo much it hurts. I swear every night Will and I lay in bed and just talk about how special he is and how much we love him. Couldn't imagine life with out him, and he makes everyday BRIGHT.

This is why we call her "Hurricane Macy"

She is on the GO all the time, I can't leave her anywhere with the thought that she will stay there. Yesterday she got so many bonks from falling over or pulling things down. I even caught her with a candy corn in her mouth she picked up from who knows where!

In this picture she crawled into the bathroom and pulled this little table over.

I thought she was playing nicely in the living room...

I think QB took a little pleasure in the fact that the little princess did something wrong :) He stood there and was happy to help me tell her "No no!" repeatedly, then said "it's ok mom, I will clean it". I think he it's starting to pick up the concept of "brownie points" as well...

Quick trip to Indy

We made a fast weekend trip out to Indiana to visit Will's Grand-dad and extended family. The trip was fun but a little stressful traveling with the little ones. They were really good, but they both got colds while we were there. And being out of the comfort of your own home when you have

sick babies is rough.

But we made it.

Im usually a sunshine gal but this year I am really loving the change of season. The misty mornings and pumpkin spice lattes, the sweaters and boots, a fire in the fireplace and crockpot soups and fun weekend outdoor adventures like this one!

Dispite some cranky kiddos who were off their nap schedule, we had a really fun time. Tractor ride through the orchard, hay maze, bouncy house, and some yummy treats. They look pretty happy, right?

I thank God everyday for these loves of mine.

I am so lucky to have these four lovely ladies in my life. Shan, Jaime, Maura and Shaunna were my college room mates and now my life long friends. We've managed to escape on many get-a-ways together with out husbands or kids! This time we went to Arizona. It was more than a tired momma could hope for! Sleeping in, good food, pool time, massages, yummy drinks, and lots of GIRL time....so many laughs. I believe that one lives longer the more they laugh, and this trip got me at least a few extra years.

First Day of Preschool!

Quinten had his first day of 2 year old preschool at Sonshine Express Preschool today. He looked like suck a big boy with his monkey backpack on. We had a special breakfast of blueberry pancakes, at Quinten's request, to start off the morning. Then Will and I drove him to school and walked him to the classroom. He gave flowers to his 2 teachers and found his name on the apple chart. A quick kiss and hug at the door and it was time for us to leave. Quinten gave a big frown and the tears started swelling when he realized we were not staying. The teacher reassured us he would be fine and we left. NO tears for mom, I did my crying last night secretivly as I wrote his name in his backpack. I didn't want him to see me be sad. The 2 and a half hours he was there flew by and I was back picking him up. He had a huge smile and lots of stories to tell.

So proud of my big boy...seeming bigger than ever these days.

For one last hurrah of the summer, we packed up and flew to Indiana for a family wedding.

It ended up being a great trip!!

Here are a few highlights:

Quinten and Macy were such good travelers. They both did perfect on the airplane. However....perfect can turn into disaster when your little boy pukes on your shoes at the rental car counter. Yep. QB threw up all over the place, poor lil guy. Air sick? Too many snacks? A touch of the flu? Who knows...my crazy mothering mind will continue to try to over-analyze the situation.

Will's aunt and uncle have an amazing piece of property with a cabin-like guest house, a lake, and a barn. We had so much fun soaking up the sun, exploring outdoors, swimming, and goin' "ISHIN" as QB would call it!

That's my baby waaaaayyyy out there on a boat! It was a little nerve-wracking...

What a Hike!

We had an awesome day at Silverlake Falls.

Sunny day but not too hot.

We learned that we are kinda out of shape!

Well out of shape when you take turns carrying this 30 lb sack of potatoes :)

And we learned that we are really scaredy -pants parents when it comes to 2 year old boys and 50 ft cliffs. We had the death grip on his arm and Will and I made sure we knew who was going to dive off the cliff after him if he fell.

Macy's first time in the backpack. She loved being such a BIG girl.

She finally got her first tooth you know...

QB had a fun time running around, but added a few more war wounds to his collection. Can't little boys do anything without getting all scraped up? He's always tripping....hence the nervous parents and the 50 ft cliff....

So Will got me a new camera for Mother's Day and I am just obsessed with it. I have a lot to learn about taking pictures but it's something that I really enjoy. Especially when I have such cute little models. Here are some shots we took at the park. I love black and white photos, but I think the color ones really capture the moment.

Our Beach Trip

We spent 4 beautiful sunny days at Lincoln City

It was supposed to rain the whole time we were there, but we were blessed with amazing beach weather. The mornings were cloudy and we got all bundled up, then the sun came out around noon and we stripped down to our shorts and swimsuits!

We rented a house right on the beach

QB did lots of exploring...

We took a trip to Newport

Went to the undersea gardens. "Where's Nemo?" he asks.

Daddy and Quinten flying a kite, you can see Will on the beach in the Red shirt and I believe QB is digging in the ditch.

We loved the "HOP TUB" as QB called it

And we loved baths in the kitchen sink. Easy and simple!

I can't help but overflow with love for this little man.

I mean just look at him...

Lighthearted...

Is still a momma's boy at times and will hide his eyes if he's shy, but other times he is Brave, Bold, and Busy.

Always asking in his cute little voice "Wha Happened?" and "Whhyyyy?"

I never want him to grow up.

It will just break my heart to see him go off on his own. Ouch. Will he ever know how I cuddled in bed with him when he had bad dreams? Will he ever remember us singing and laughing in the car? Will he ever realize that I was the one who wiped his lil bum and then did the congratulatory poopy dance with him? Do you think he will ever understand how much he has impacted and changed my life forever? Im not sure he will. I think it's somethin only momma's and daddy's must feel. So hopefully he will feel this way someday too.

But that would require him to grow up....

Sigh,

From now on, more laughing, more ice cream, more late nights, more hugs and dancing.

More of celebrating the life of a 2 year old.

Here are a few of my favorite pictures of the kids from the wedding.

Lets start off with this little man...

So stinkin' cute!

He was the ring bearer and did a pretty good job despite screaming through the rehearsal and telling me "no fank you" the whole walk to the ceremony when I was trying to get him to hold the little pillow. And finally when we got to the chairs with all the people he grabbed the pillow from me and walked nicely down the aisle like it was nothing!

The best part was the reception and all of QB's dancing.

He LOVED to dance and wouldn't stop. The DJ announced the wedding party one by one and when he announced Quinten he ran out onto the empty dance floor, busted a move, and then started doing some break dancing-like moves!

He was cracking everyone up. And I was one proud momma.

To have such a sweet, handsome, full-of-life little boy.

I adore him.

And of course this little lamb.

Smiling as usual. Dressed in her best. She was a hit too.

I was the only bridesmaid with kids, which made some of the getting ready, celebrating, and being there for the bride a heavy task. I felt overwhelmed and almost jealous of the other girls and how they didn't have any responsibility for anyone but themselves. But then I look at my babies, and my heart fills beyond belief.

I wouldn't change my place for anything.

We ventured to Connecticut for my good friend Maura's wedding. We were lucky enough to rent a house on the water and Quinten had so much fun playing in the rocks. It was a long long long trip, but so worth it!

Macy is turning into quite the "princess" as she does not like to be put down.

Nope, she wants to be held all the time and doesn't take her eyes off brother for one second.

But nursing good, and sleeping well at night too.

Momma finally let her sleep in her own room.

And she is now a big enough girl to play in the excersaucer for a bit.

She's very ticklish and you can get a good giggle if you get her under her chin.

She's sweet and we adore her.

Little missy was baptized this weekend at Christ Lutheran Church in Tacoma Wa. It is the same church that I was baptized as a baby, and QB and Will were baptized two years ago. She looked like an angel in the dress my mom made her.

4 Years Together

Will and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary last week.

Will surprised me with a hot air balloon ride.

Something I have always wanted to do.

It was amazing. Peaceful. Exciting. Scary. Fulfilling.

We even helped set it up and take it down, a lot of work.

And after it was over, I was so glad we did it.

It reminded me of our marriage.

Some of the same feelings.

But oh so beautiful when it all comes together.

I absolutely believe with all my heart that Will and I were always meant to be.

That someone BIGGER than us had planned for us to meet and fall in love.

Funny how we were so close to HIM that day in the sky.

Thank you Lord for choosing Will for me.

He is a blessing in my life.

He means well, but the fingers just go a little too far up her nose for her liking or a roudhouse kick to the head is not her favorite. I will have to come up with a different shower plan....

Things I never want to forget about you at this stage....

You can count to 20, sing your ABC's, know your colors and some shapes. You impress me everyday with your intelligence.

You are a great bargainer. For example, if you want something you hold up your little finger and say "just one"? And when I give you one, you hold up two fingers and ask for two, then three, and so on.

You are fiesty. When you get in trouble and I tell you to look at momma you turn your face to me, raise your chin, and close your eyes. Stinker.

You get the biggest alligator tears when you don't get your way.

You LOVE toy story and lightning mcqueen.

You love your sister. But learning that it's not ok to go up to her while she's sleeping, slam your hand on her lap and say "wake up" is hard for a 2 year old to understand.

Funny thing you did yesterday. While I was on my hands and knees cleaning your playroom you tried to pull the back of my pants down to check if I was poopy. I guess this is only fair since Ive been doing this to you a million times since you were born. You made me laugh so hard.

You LOVE to see my face. I know this cause your eyes light up, then squint with a big smile and sometimes a small gasp of joy.

You get beside yourself when you are overtired, just like me. And the only thing you want is to be put down in your bed and left alone to sleep, just like me.

I always assumed people just were not trying hard enough when they would say it's IMPOSSIBLE to take pictures of more than one child. I was humbled the other morning when my photo shoot went bananas!

Loving Two...

I walk along holding your 2-year-old hand, basking in the glow of our magical relationship.

Suddenly I feel a kick from within, as if to remind me that our time alone is limited.

And I wonder, how could I love another child as I love you?

Then she is born, and I watch you.

I watch as the pain you feel at having to share me as you have never shared me before.

I hear you telling me in your own way, "Please love only me" and I hear myself telling you in mine "I can't".

Knowing in fact that I never can again.

You cry, I cry with you.

I almost see our baby as an intruder on the precious relationship we once shared.

A relationship we can never have again.

But then, barely noticing, I find myself attached to that new being, and feeling almost guilty.

I'm afraid to let you see me enjoying her -- as though I am betraying you.

But then I notice your resentment change, first to curiosity, then to protectiveness, finally to genuine affection.

More days pass, and we are settling into a new routine.

The memory of days with just the two of us is fading fast.

But something is replacing those wonderful times we shared, just us two.

There are new times -- only now we are three.

I watch the love between you grow, the way you look at each other, touch each other.

I watch how she adores you, as I have for so long.

I see how excited you are by each of her new accomplishments.

I begin to realize that I haven't taken something from you, I've given something to you.

I notice that I am no longer afraid to share my love openly with both of you.

I find that my love for each of you is as different as you are, but equally strong.

And my question is finally answered to my amazement.

Yes, I can love another child as much as I love you, only differently.

And although I realize that you may have to share my time, I know you'll never share my love.

There's enough of that for both of you -- you each have your own supply.

I love you both and I thank you both for blessing my life.

Easy labor, easy birth. Momma is recovering nicely and Daddy is in love with his girl. Quinten has been so good around her and always asks to hold "Quinten's baby" and counts her fingers and toes.

My little family. Can't believe I'm a mother of two! It's going to be a crazy and hectic year, but I couldn't imagine it any other way. I love Will and I love my babies. How lucky am I?

I'm Two!!!

I wanted to post a pic of Qb's birthday before it got to crazy with baby pictures. My friend took the majority of the pictures so I just have a few. Here is Quinten with his fish cake (I made it!) and he had a blast at his fish party, which was complete with a bubble machine, rice activity table, lots of kids, and live goldfish party favors! Quinten says "I two!" if you ask how old he is and I think his favorite present was his lightning mcqueen car from auntie Maura.

Santa's not so bad...from a distance. It took a lot of convincing to go see Santa, forget sitting on the lap of this scary man.
I actually had to tell Quinten we were "trick or treating" since he has that concept down. Santa had a big sack full of candy canes, so it wasn't totally a lie.Quinten told Santa he wanted "queen" (lightning McQueen) for Christmas and was brave enough to give a high five. No tears, so all in all a success!

Quinten was such a cute dragon/dinosoar on Halloween. His costume was a dragon, but he thought he was a dinosoar because dinosoars say "ROAR"!
He was a very cute trick or treater. He went right up to the houses and said "T-trea" (trick or treat) and was so excited to actually receive a treat! When I reminded him to say thank you he just looked at the person and said "an muoh" (I want more) which usually scored him another candy before he said a soft "bye" and waddled his way back down the steps.
He was so stinkin' cute...just melted my heart.
Had to post this cause it's a rare pic of him actually looking at the camera with a nice smile. However, his smile is blue because he was eating m&m's. :)

We went apple picking on the Hood River Fruit Loop this weekend. It was a beautiful sunny day and a beautiful drive. Quinten loved apple picking, he would say "I full" (I pull) and got a kick out of pulling the apples down and putting them in the bucket.

Big boy at Blackberry Farm, Tennessee.
We always let Quinten run around naked right before his bath. We sing the "nakey song" and he goes wild!
He's grown so fast...not so much a baby anymore. He can say over 10 words with his favorite being "more!" (sounds like a high pitched "Ma!") He loves to make animal sounds and dance along to Wheels on the Bus and Old McDonald. He eats his cereal in the morning like a big boy with milk and a spoon, and don't you dare try and help him! He can do it! He loves his swimming lessons and can go underwater like a champ. Always wanting to be outside this one, and he has to RUN everywhere, not walk. My favorite: still loves to snuggle momma :)

Happy Birthday Quinten!

Qne year old....WOW....where did that year go?!? Here are some pictures from QB's birthday party. It was a really fun afternoon, here is Q in the ball pit...

A polka dot cake for a polka dot party! I tried to make it semi healthy; carrot and applesause cake and cream cheese icing. Ummm! He just sat there and took dainty little bites with his fingers. Mommy helped him to get a little messy ;)

Opening presents. He wasn't too sure about this process, he pretty much just liked this one toy that Will and I got for him. It was the one thing at Toys R Us that he would not let go of at the checkout, so we had to get it :)

Sharing bites with Godmomma Maura. She surprised us and flew in from Connecticut for the party! We love her.

I cannot tell you the joy I have felt as a mother this past year. Sure we have our days of endless crying (both him and I), our sleepless nights, and our temper tantrums, but beyond all that there is the deep feeling of love I have never felt before. To realize that Quinten is a treasure that was given to me is something that I still cannot think about without getting choked up. He is so amazing and wonderful and I am so proud and privileged to hear that "mama" word come from his mouth. It has been a year of big changes and some growing up on my part, but I am glad to be a part of the mommy world :)

Alright, enough sappy stuff...on to reality. Gotta go change a poopy diaper!

My sweet boy is getting so big. I can't believe he is almost one year! He is definitely mobile as he is crawling fast all over and pulling him self up on everything (or, pulling everything over...) My most used word now is "no,no" and most of the time Quinten will look at me mischievously before unraveling the toilet paper, pushing buttons on the stereo, or taking dirt out of my plants! Oh, it's only the beginning. He keeps me on my toes!

Every year we carve pumpkins with our friends Jaime and Kyle. It has become a fun tradition to make a night out of it with yummy food and drinks. This year was a tad more challenging with the two little ones crawling around amongst the goop and seeds....

Ellie was all about the slop, Quinten wasn't too sure...

He settled for a biter biscut. He was such a mess.
